Shopify - Set a default description for the item(s) being purchased

Item description refers to the description of the package / delivery that is shared with the Sherpa driver. By default, this includes the name of the products purchased by the customer (as displayed in your product catalog).

If, for privacy reasons, you do not want to display the product details to the Sherpa driver, you can enter a generic description here for the product type or category; for example "electronic items", "grocery", etc. This is the description that is used for all orders processed through the Sherpa app.


Follow the steps below to set up a default item description for your orders.

  1. Under the Settings section, click on 'Manage Settings'.


  2. In the 'Product Details' section, look for the Item Description field.


  3. Enter a word or phrase describing the product type in that field; e.g. "electronic items", "grocery", etc. 

  4. Click 'Save Settings' to save your changes.
