What are the valid forms of ID in Australia?

Under State Law and Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines, alcohol must not be delivered to or left with a person under 18 years of age.

Approved forms of ID vary from state to state, and you can only accept ID that is approved in the state where you are delivering. Acceptable forms of ID by state are as follows:

  • Australian or International Passport
  • A NSW Photo Card or Interstate Proof of Age Card
  • Commonwealth Keypass Card
  • NSW Digital Drivers Licence

NT

  • Australian or most International Drivers Licence
  • Australian or International Passport
  • An 18+ Card or Proof of Age Card
  • Commonwealth Keypass Card
  • Firearms Licence

QLD

If the recipient doesn't have any other valid form of ID, the driver will log a paid return via the driver app under the reason "recipient refuses to show ID/no valid ID".
