When do I receive tracking information?

As a Sender

As the Sender of the delivery, you have visibility on the status of your delivery from the moment it was booked. As soon as a driver is assigned to your delivery, a tracking link will be visible to you in the Delivery Details view.

As a Recipient

If the Sender has enabled it for your delivery, you will receive an SMS and/or Email with the tracking link. You will be notified in the following three instances:

  • When the delivery has been picked up
  • When the items have been delivered
  • If a delivery fails and is being returned to the Sender

 

What do the tracking notifications look like?

A recipient would receive these three notifications:

Your delivery is on its way

Tracking My Delivery

The tracking link will look something like this: https://track.sherpadelivery.com/[tracking_token].

Before the delivery has been picked up

Can I reschedule the delivery?

If, for any reason, you're unable to receive the delivery and it cannot be left unattended, you can contact the Sender to reschedule it for a later time or day.

The Sender's contact information is available on the tracking link when you select the option to reschedule.

How do I contact the driver?

Add a Delivery Note

Delivery notes provide the driver with additional guidance about delivering your items. For example, if there is loading dock access, whether you'll be available at the time to receive the delivery, etc.

These delivery notes are displayed to the driver when they're heading to the drop-off.

Delivery notes are not meant to be used to change the delivery address or delivery preferences like 'Authority to Leave' permissions, etc. To update this information, please use the 'live chat' on the tracking screen to chat with Sherpa Support.

 

Call the Driver

When the delivery has been picked up, you will have the option to contact the driver over the phone.

For the driver's safety, however, we recommend that you refrain from calling them unless it's urgent. Opt to, instead, add a delivery note.
