You can set Sherpa as a courier in your Starshipit account, and you can configure checkout rates for any Starshipit ecommerce integrations you use. More information about ecommerce live rates here.
Visit starshipit.com and select Login. Once logged in to your Starshipit account, follow the below instructions to configure your Sherpa rates.
Setup Sherpa as a Courier
Connect your Sherpa account
- Login to your Starshipit dashboard and navigate to Settings > Couriers
- Select 'Add courier' and then select 'Sherpa' from the domestic carrier list
- Tick the 'Enabled' checkbox
- Enter your Sherpa username & password (Use your Sherpa QA account details and select ‘Use Staging URL’ if testing). If you do not have these credentials, please contact sales@sherpa.net.au or contact your Sherpa account manager
- Test your account details using the ‘Test to ensure it works’ button

Click on the Save button to save your details
Set Vehicle type

Choose the vehicle most suitable for your deliveries. If unsure, select Car.
Add Product Codes

Select 'Add a new product code' and enter which of the following you'll be offering to your customers
(Sherpa's default is 2hr - Product code 0)

2. Select 'Edit' to change the name, and select a default (Sherpa's default is 2hr - Product code 0)
Set delivery flags and preferences
- Navigate to the ‘Advanced’ Tab

Tick the delivery preferences you wish your deliveries to be flagged with:
- Leave unattended = If the delivery is suitable for leaving unattended and no one is available, our driver will leave the delivery provided there is a safe place to do so.
- Specified Recipient = Our driver will only hand over the delivery to the person specified, recipient will be politely asked to show ID
- Alcohol (18+) = Our driver will follow the RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) rules according to the laws in your state.
- Prescription Meds (18+) = Our driver is required to follow rules in compliance with laws for delivering restricted medication in your state. Recipient will be required to show valid ID.
- Tobacco (18+) = Our driver is required to follow rules in compliance with laws for delivering tobacco products in your state. Recipient will be required to show valid ID.
- Select Save
Use default item description
For privacy and easy comprehension, we recommend using the default item description. This means each order will be sent with the same description, rather than the item list from within your order. Eg 'Salon and beauty products' or 'Flowers and Gifts', 'Sporting Equipment' etc

Navigate to Starshipit Dashboard > Settings > Options and enter your item description in the Default Item Description field
- Select Save
- Navigate to the ‘Advanced’ Tab
- Tick 'Use generic description for all items'
- Select Save
Send Sherpa tracking link to recipient
Sherpa can send your recipient a live tracking link when the delivery is assigned. To do this you need to
- Provide a valid mobile phone number with the delivery information sent to Sherpa

Tick the 'Send tracking link to recipient' option under Couriers > Sherpa > Settings > Advanced
- Select Save
Configure Checkout Rates
- From your Starshipit dashboard navigate to Settings > Checkout Rates
- Select the ‘Courier Configuration’ tab
- Select ‘Enabled advanced configuration’
- Select ‘Enable domestic rates’
- Contract Rates: Sherpa rates will be calculated at checkout based on the customers address. You can opt to add a margin, as well as specify what time of the day the rates will show.
- Table Rates: Assign flat rates for Sherpa options based on customer postcode, total delivery weights etc. You can also specify what time of the day the rates will show.
Contract (Sherpa calculated) Rates:
- Select ‘Contract Rates’
- Select the Products (Sherpa delivery products) you wish to enable at customer checkout on your ecommerce platform
- Choose the ‘Display Name’ (if you want to show different to the Product Name
- Select the display start time and end time of the day you wish those rates to be available at checkout (eg, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM means your customer will see rates for that product during these hours)
- Select Margin type (if any) and value (if you want to charge in addition to Sherpa calculated rates)

Select ‘Save’
Table (Flat) Rates
- Select ‘Table Rates’
- Add the product codes and Product Names of the rates you wish to show
- Select the display start time and end time of the day you wish those rates to be available at checkout (eg, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM means your customer will see rates for that product during these hours)
- Set the Country and State Codes
- Set the Postcodes those rates apply to
- Follow the instructions in the LHS panel to understand how to set the rates shown at checkout in relation to weights

Select ‘Save’
Configure checkout rate rules
- Under Settings > Checkout Rates select the ‘Rules Tab’

Select ‘Add a new rule’ and configure your rules for showing Sherpa rates at checkout (eg, select different pickup locations for rates to be calculated based on specific postcodes)

To select your eCommerce platform and configure Starshipit accordingly. When complete, your rates should show at checkout as set in Starshipit.
